At Babilon, we strive to go beyond the minimum legal requirements, thus creating an environment of sustainability.

Our objective is to reduce the environmental impact of our activities, and to help our clients, associates, employees and collaborators do the same.

Environmental Responsibility.
Sustainable development is a very important factor in the development of a business. For this reason, Babilon has established an environmental responsibility policy. We are committed to environmental responsibility, and all company personnel have a role to perform to complete this commitment. For this purpose, we have created a series of policies that, even though they may seem simple, can generate a significant impact on our environment. Our policy is the following:
- Use energy efficiently.
- Understand the social and environmental implications of our actions.
- Reduce the need for transportation.
- Promote environmental awareness among the Babilon community.
- Avoid unnecessary waste and encourage appropriate conservation, reusing and recycling the company’s resources.
In practical terms, our measures are divided into two main areas:
Paper
Even though paper continues being necessary for businesses, at Babilon our policy is only to print indispensable documents, all printed documents must be double-sided, or single-sided documents should be reused on the blank side.
Babilon employees must:
- Use recycled paper or print double-sided whenever possible.
- Save paper that was printed single-sided for later use.
- Only print essential documents, or if the document is extensive, read it on the computer unless is constitutes a health or security risk.
- Destroy all confidential documents.
- Ink cartridges for printers, when possible, should be refilled by the manufacturer.
Babilon is committed to achieving greater efficiency in total energy consumption and continually searching for ways to better this efficiency. In particular, Babilon:
- Circulates memos to all employees about energy saving.
- Encourages employees to use these means of saving in their homes.
Traveling
Babilon is committed to the continual development of an environmentally responsible transportation strategy. Our strategy has two distinct elements: firstly, it reduces the need to travel through the advanced use of telecommunications; secondly, it uses a means of transport with the lowest impact possible.
Many Babilon employees work from home, and the majority of in-office employees live close or use public transportation. Babilon carries out most of its business through emails and by phone, reducing the need to travel.
The Babilon team travels using the following means of transportation, listed in order of preference:
- On foot
- Bicycle
- Public transportation
- Motorcycle
- Personal vehicle

Each of our actions represents Babilon, and we must do our best to maintain our company’s good reputation. Each of us must accept the personal responsibility of doing the right thing. Our company counts on it.
The Babilon team must accept the obligation of resisting or avoiding actions that could hurt our clients, our colleagues, or the reputation of the company, and report such actions the moment they occur. Babilon strives to promote an honest and responsible environment.
The highest level of ethical conduct is our commitment, which should be reflected in all commercial activities of the company, including relations with employees, clients, providers, competitors, and government entities.

Respect and Dignity
Each of our employees deserve to be treated with fairness, respect and dignity. Babilon employees have the right to work in a harassment, intimidation and abuse free environment, whether that be sexual or of any other nature, such as acts or threats of physical or verbal violence. We do not tolerate degrading physical or verbal conduct toward others.
Harassment includes insults, offensive comments, taunting, hostile electronic communication or any other conduct that could create an intimidating, hostile or offensive atmosphere at the workplace. Aside from what has been mentioned, “sexual harassment” includes unwelcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other conduct of a sexual nature.
Workplace
We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. We require all employees to comply with the rules and safety practices, and to take the necessary precautions to take care of themselves and their coworkers.
Babilon recognizes its obligation to comply with health and safety in the workplace. This policy is revised annually and affirms the commitment of the company to provide adequate resources in order to maintain health and safety.
Therefore, Babilon ensures the provision of introduction, training and supervision information to its employees that is necessary to guarantee their safety and health, and that of individuals who are affected by the employees’ actions in the workplace.
Acting for the better of Babilon
At Babilon, we always act after taking the short- and long-term benefits into consideration, never considering personal benefits or by prioritizing friends or family. We follow our vision, standards and company ethics, all to ensure the growth of our business.
Conflicts of Interest.
A conflict of interest occurs when the personal interests of an employee, or the interests of a third party, compete with the interests of Babilon. In this situation, it could become difficult for the employee to act in the best interests of Babilon. Whenever possible, employees should avoid conflicts of interest and stick with the interests of the company of which they are a part.
If a conflict of this nature were to occur, or if an employee were to find themselves facing a situation that could involve a conflict of interest, the employee should speak with their immediate superior and the head of Human Resources, with the aim of resolving the situation fairly and clearly.
Anti-corruption
Babilon is completely against actions related to corruption and other illicit activities. Due to this, we observe and apply fair and transparent business practices to ensure compliance with laws and regulations, preventing bribery or extortion.
Employees, directly or through intermediaries, must never offer or promise an inappropriate personal or financial favor or any type of favor with the aim of obtaining a business or advantage on behalf of a third party.
We do not award, accept or commit to giving gifts, profitable conditions, wages, trips, commissions or any other form of compensation to influence business. Likewise, we do not accept said advantages in exchange for preferential treatment on behalf of third parties, nor do we carry out any other bribery or extortion practice in our relations with clients, providers, governmental representatives or other people or entities with whom we operate.
Employees should take into consideration that offering or accepting inappropriate benefits with the aim of influencing the decision of a third party, could not only result in a request for disciplinary actions by Babilon, but also in the formulation of criminal charges.
Complaint System
At Babilon, we believe that our values are an essential part of the life and culture of the company; therefore, we take any report of illegal practices or inappropriate conduct within our organization very seriously.
This is regulated by our Complaint System, which allows the reporting of any behavior or practice that does not respect the ethics of Babilon.
Babilon employees assume the responsibility of guaranteeing that all employees act with integrity at all times. The employees should report all practices or actions they believe to be inappropriate or even legal to their immediate superiors, or with the head of Human Resources.
All claims must be adequately investigated. Babilon prohibits retaliation against any employee in regards to claims presented in good faith, and protects the rights of the accused.
Sanctions
Non-compliance with this code is subject to disciplinary sanctions. The severity of these sanctions depends on the gravity of the infraction committed. Sanctions range from a written warning to termination of employment. When there is doubt about the violation of the code, the available evidence will be evaluated by Human Resources before the corresponding sanction for the possible infraction is imposed.

Operational quality defines our identity, our visions, goals, values, and with that, the basic rules of how we operate.
In short, this means:

- Eliminating any and all types of discrimination.
